its own.

The
world’s newest island, Niijima, born by volcano off the Pacific coast of Japan
a few hundred miles south of Tokyo, was predicted to stop growing and erode
away fairly quickly. However, Nii (new) Jima (island) kept growing as its
volcano kept releasing lava until joining to its older neighbor, Nishinoshima...
