Y chromosome, the sex chromosome that differentiates males from females, has

The human Y
chromosome is smaller than its X counterpart and until now, scientists thought
it did little more than keep developing embryos from becoming females where
present. However, new examinations of the male sex chromosome reveal startling
discoveries. In fact, the Y chromosome contains a number of active genes that
are essential for male life as well as the maintenance of the Y chromosome’s
